Natural is defined in Webster's Dictionary as : Not altered, treated, or disguised. Natural childbirth is defined as: childbirth regarded and performed as a natural process involving little pain or stress, and requiring preparatory training and medical supervision but no anesthesia or surgical aide.
Sounds really good. Then why do we find that over 25% of live births are through cesarean section? There is not a woman our there who goes into pregnancy and childbirth that longs to have major surgery to bring her baby into this world. The majority of women want "natural" childbirth.
